The Struggle: Finding Summer Shoes with Bunions

If you’ve read my previous gear reviews, you already know finding shoes that don’t hurt my feet is a challenge. I have pretty severe bunions, which drastically limits my options and usually keeps me far away from shoe shopping.

When it comes to summer shoes? It’s usually an impossible task, so my standard summer uniform has just been regular old sneakers. But this season, I tried two pairs from Dream Pairs that completely changed the game for me.

Pair 1: The CorkHaven Flats

Built for long summer days on the go, the CorkHaven Flats combine a supportive cork and memory foam footbed with a relaxed, wide round toe box which is a godsend for effortless comfort when you have bunions. They are incredibly lightweight, easy to pack, and even easier to style without pain, taking you seamlessly from daytime exploring to dinner out.

My Favorite Feature: The velcro strap! Remember the old-school straps where you had to spend forever unbuckling and trying to force the pin into the tiny holes? I used to get so lazy that I'd just leave them loose. These velcro straps are a total game-changer and make adjustments an absolute breeze.

Plus, there was zero break-in period. I took them straight to the park for a long walk and experienced absolutely no discomfort. They pair perfectly with everything from casual jeans to a summer skirt.

Pair 2: The BREEZE-2 Flip-Flops

Next ones are the BREEZE-2 Flip-Flops, which deliver lightweight cushioning with a supportive twist. They feature a deep heel cup and gentle arch support to keep your steps stable, while the soft midsole and non-slip outsole make them ideal for everything from poolside lounging to city strolling.

I actually haven’t worn flip-flops in years because the straps always hurt the web of skin between my toes. These, however, provided immediate comfort with absolutely no break-in time required.

(Note: Disregard my crusty toes in the photos below, but you can see exactly how bad my bunions are and how well these shoes accommodate them!)

Overall Thoughts & Verdict

  • Bunion-Friendly: Both of these pairs are fantastic if you struggle with bunions.

  • Ready to Wear: As with all the Dream Pairs shoes I’ve tried so far, there is zero break-in time needed. You can wear them straight out of the box.

  • Versatile Style: While they come in a great variety of colors, beige is my ultimate go-to neutral because it matches literally any outfit.

Prime Day 2026 Alert!

If you want to grab either the CorkHaven Flats or BREEZE-2 Flip-Flops for yourself, timing is perfect. Amazon Prime Day 2026 is running from June 23 to June 26, so keep an eye out for some awesome sales on both of these styles!
